She also sees obstetric patients, including high-risk pregnancies and gynecology patients for minimally-invasive surgery and general office gynecology.

Clinics and Hospitals

Dr. Freitas sees patients at our clinics in Waconia and Chaska. She is on the medical staff of Ridgeview Medical Center.

Biography and Personal Interests

I went to medical school because I wanted to have a job where I could help people. I chose ObGyn because it combines surgery, primary care, and the chance to deliver babies. Knowing that my patients are primarily healthy and the problems we see are often very simple to address is an enjoyable part of this job. The chance to guide a patient through a pregnancy and assist in the birth of a new baby is a thrill that never gets old. I enjoy getting to know my patients and truly look forward to seeing them back year after year for their annual exams.

Originally from Iowa, I joined Western ObGyn in 2002 after finishing my residency training. Here, I found a great group of partners who work well together and share a dedication to quality patient care. I also like living and working in a small town like Waconia, knowing that we have everything we need to provide top-notch care right here.

Patients often come to see an ObGyn with some apprehension. We deal with very private, personal issues, and it can be intimidating to sit in a gown and anticipate an exam or ask for help with infertility or pelvic pain. I think my patients would say that I am good at making their visit a comfortable experience. It’s important to me that my patients feel they are being listened to carefully, and I believe that my gentle, calm communication style helps create a successful doctor-patient relationship.

When not working I enjoy family time with my husband and three children. My experience with my own pregnancies and being a busy, working mother helps me stay especially in tune with the importance of keeping women healthy and active.
