Biography and Personal Interests

I was interested in working in the field of medicine since I was 11, but I never thought I would become an OB/GYN. For many years, I thought I wanted to do general surgery or pediatrics. For a while, I also considered psychiatry. Then I completed my OB/GYN rotation as a medical student and loved everything about it. I did a bit of everything, and it seemed like the right fit for me. Now, I can’t imagine doing anything else.

I think my patients would tell you that I’m friendly and personable. I try hard to explain things well and give my patients options, including involving them in deciding what is best for them. I enjoy staying involved in broader medical issues as well and am currently serving on the Ridgeview Medical Staff Executive Committee.

Joining Western OB/GYN, A Division of Ridgeview Clinics, right after completing my training was an easy decision. I completed my residency in the Twin Cities and had heard great things about both the group and the hospital. Being from the western suburbs also made the location a huge bonus. I’ve been really pleased with how well the group and the hospital stays up-to-date and forward thinking when it comes to patient care and procedures. This is a unique find in a community hospital. I receive compliments weekly about a patient’s experience through our clinic or hospital system. The providers at our clinic work hard to take excellent care of our patients and I trust all of my partners to cover my patients when I’m not available. It’s also extremely valuable that we each have different years of experience and training; we all have something unique to add to the practice. As a group, we have been involved in education for decades. More than one medical student has chosen obstetrics and gynecology because of their excellent experience with our group and our fantastic patients.

I grew up in the western suburbs and attended Wayzata High School. I currently live in Waconia and love the community. My husband writes children’s books and we have three school-aged children and two rescue dogs. In my spare, time you’ll find me reading, traveling, and sailing on Lake Waconia.
