Biography and Personal Interests
Prior to coming to Western Ob/Gyn, I enjoyed other practice settings including faculty positions with the University of Oklahoma, University of Florida, and most recently with the University of Minnesota when working at a large clinic. I have been honored to be recognized by peers in Minnesota Monthly magazine as a Top Doctor in Female Urology and Urogynecology. My practice includes women of all ages for Gynecologic and Obstetric concerns.
Special training and experience have allowed me to develop a specialty in Urogynecology, the practice of caring for women with bladder problems, prolapse (pelvic relaxation), and other pelvic concerns. As our population ages, more women will be in need of Urogynecology services, some with complex problems. I find it rewarding to provide help to women who may have experienced a bladder or pelvic pain problem for years. Many women are searching for nonsurgical solutions to their pelvic problems and I strive to offer state-of-the-art solutions, both surgical and non-surgical.
My special interests include caring for women with complex bladder and pelvic floor problems and those who may have had previous unsuccessful surgery. I enjoy complex vaginal surgery especially vaginal hysterectomy for women with a large uterus. Vaginal surgery has the advantage of minimizing risk and recovery compared to traditional abdominal operations.
Over the years, I have enjoyed developing relationships with patients of all ages that become long-lasting. As much as I have been able to help women through medical care, they too have helped me grow, like my older patients with their unforgettable wit and wisdom.
My wife Danielle and I are grateful for our twins, Elizabeth and William. And we all love the special most recent addition to our family – our dog Millie. Our family enjoys sports activities, exercise and the outdoors, and we really enjoy family time at our cabin up north.
